My TV isn't responding to my Sky remote control
Setup of your Sky remote control and Sky remote control codes
If you are unable to control your TV with your Sky remote control try the following procedures to resolve the issue.
Reset the Sky remote control:
1. Point the Sky Remote Control away from the TV and press the tv button.
2. Press and hold down the select and red buttons simultaneously until the red light at the top of the Sky remote control flashes twice.
3. Press the numbers 9, 9, 9.
The red light at the top of the Sky Remote Control should flash twice.
If it does not flash twice, please try the above procedure again.
Locate the codes for your TV:
1. Press the interactive button on your Sky remote control.
2. Highlight Sky Customer Services using the up/down arrows and press select.
3. Highlight Technical Help by pressing the right arrow button twice and press select.
4. Highlight Why doesn't my Sky Remote Control my TV and press select.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to determine the codes for your make of television. 6. Now follow the process to reprogramme your Sky Remote Control.
Sky Remote Control Unit Programming Procedure:
1. Select any channel on the TV and point the Sky Remote Control away from the TV.
2. Confirm the version of the Sky Remote Control by removing the battery cover.
If there is no sticker inside then it is older than a version 4 therefore disregard the leading ‘0’ and ensure that the select button is pressed after entering the 3 digit code.
3. Press the tv button then press and hold down the select and red buttons simultaneously until the red light at the top of the Sky Remote Control flashes twice.
4. Input the 3 or 4 digit number.
5. Point the Sky Remote Control at the TV and try the volume button, if this works try the other TV functions.
6. Press the Sky button to return to the Sky mode to operate the set top box.
If you are still unable to control your TV, please try the above procedure again.
If all the codes registered for the chosen brand have been tried without success then, unless a Sky Remote Control previously controlled the same TV (faulty Sky Remote Control? Dead batteries?), it is likely that the model of TV is not supported. |
